Hey there…
I'm a photographer who lives and works on the Central Coast of NSW.
I'm a wife and mumma, and I still pinch myself every day that I have a small human in my care. Motherhood is literally the hardest thing I've ever done. Ever. And the thing I love most.
I dream of my morning coffee the night before. I shoot with a Canon, it's my jam. I studied Fine Arts at university. I have a Spoodle and a Springer Spaniel and they are the all-time best!
I live and work on Darkinjung land and I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians and pay respect to their Country, history and culture.
My business name has been with me for a long time. As a teenager I found a passage in the Bible that just hit me right in the solar plexus. I knew that if I ever owned a business thais is what i’d name it - because every single human has such intrinsic value. And I get to capture that as art and memory.
“He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don't be intimidated by all this bully talk. You're worth more than a million canaries.” - Matthew 10:29-33 The Message (MSG)
How many canaries?
Health + safety
One of my biggest priorities is your safety!
I have completed a course with the Academy of Newborn Photography on Birth, Newborn Health & Safety and Workplace Health & Safety.
I also have a current First Aid Certificate and am fully immunised (including Covid-19 booster and Whooping Cough). Lastly, I have Public Liability Insurance and a current Working With Children Check number.
My photography journey…
As a child I loved art, and creativity. I had little film cameras and i'd shoot a roll and return it to be developed, then the photo shop would give me another roll.
I took art at school and was introduced to the dark room. I'd like to say I fell in love with the developing process. I did not. Math and chemicals and dark spaces have never been my vibe; give me light and literature and messy creativity any day.
I cut my proper big girl photography teeth on my Dad's Canon SLR that he used to take photos of me when I was born.
After school I studied Fine Arts at UNSW College of Fine Art. I had no Idea where I wanted to go. At that point I was taking up time until I could become a housewife and have billions of kids (oh gosh, silly 19 year old Amber). I ended up choosing photomedia as my major and loved it. Throughout the next decade I dabbled as a photo assistant, doing second shooting on weddings and formals. Gaining confidence in my skills and creativity, and moving into creating my own business.
I have found a passion in photographing parenthood and families, and am so enjoying this photography journey!
